Ijits, flamers and other oddities
First, let me say, people who go into chat rooms, many of us, go to play out a fantasy. I believe I've already mentioned that. Kissing, touching, making love, or other *normal* acts of sexuality. Some of the fantasies, however, are not expected and not told to the person they've decided to act it out with, for example:
Some people are men, and go in using a female name and can create elaborate stories about who they are, in real life, as a woman.
Some people change their ethnicity.
Some people change their age. (WARNING: I do believe it is illegal to pretend you are under the legal age of 18 in sexual cyber play. I will look up the law and post at a later date)
One person I knew, came in as a kitten and she was VERY good, as a kitten. She didn't *have sex* but played, walked, got petted, purred, etc. very life like, err, kitten like. The best role play I ever saw.
Some people change their status (married, divorced, single, rich, poor, work status and more), their height, hair color, size, the list is endless and, as a warning, to be expected.
Then we have the gay men, lesbian women, bi curious people, bi sexual people, transvestite people, cross dressers, and, and...do you see what I mean? ANYthing. The setting could be a room, bar, seashore, palace, whorehouse, again, on and on and on.
By the way, at ANY time, you can say no. Or Stop. Some people don't know how and just disappear from the room, or hold a resentment, nurturing it even. If you're not comfortable trying something, someone, then say so. As in real life, the same applies in cyberspace, "No means No".
The Ijits
Invariably, people will cry out indignantly, "How DARE they come in here and do THAT. I am me, in these rooms, what you see is what you would get in real life. Why do they have to be such losers??". To which I say, after 9 years of being online, there is no such a thing as honesty in a chat room. Ever. You need to go into the rooms knowing that up front. We come here, good, bad and indifferent, to get *something* that is lacking in our real lives. People come in in bad moods, wanting to fight, making fun of others, banding together like they are in high school. You'll see for yourself, the developed community is amazing to watch, most times *S*
The Flamers
Some people go in the rooms only to make fun of other people, to be mean and nasty. If the room you are in has an ignore feature, I suggest you use it. Try, try to not get in an altercation with these, what I call, ijits. They will get personal, they will sit in silence and *gather intelligence* to use as verbal weapons, later.
Yes. This place, in my words, is a game. A dangerous game. One cannot take it too seriously because of many of the reasons I have mentioned, and yet, we are human and we ascribe human qualities onto the *characters* we meet (no matter how much you hear, "I'm honest. What you see is what you get, even in r/t, from me", the bottom line is you have NO idea who this person really is).
